A young man who survives a disaster at sea is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. It's cold, visceral, and almost entirely authentic from the use of natural lighting to the barebones yet powerful storytelling. While cast away, he forms an unexpected connection with another survivor: a fearsome Bengal tiger. You can tell Iñárritu poured his heart into this project and it pays off tremendously."It's so disappointing for people to hear that, because in the soap opera of the Kate and Leo story we fell in love at first sight and had a million snogs – but actually we never did." The British actress added, "He always saw me as one of the boys; I've never really been a girly-girl."We needed each other to lean on because we were very young and working all kinds of crazy bloody hours, and it was a shock to the system." In her interview, Kate also spoke about juggling her Hollywood career with her home life – an issue both Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie have shared their views on."It's so disappointing for people to hear that, because in the soap opera of the Kate and Leo story we fell in love at first sight and had a million snogs, but actually we never did. But we should never be saying that it's difficult because we are so bloody lucky. It's always a juggle, but isn't it for every working mother? He always saw me as one of the boys; I've never really been a girly-girl. The thing for me personally that is a difficult transition is that my life at home is just so different to my life at work.Grief-stricken and fueled by vengeance, Glass treks through the wintry terrain to track down John Fitzgerald, the former confidant who betrayed and abandoned him. I'm not sure what parts of the story were embellished or Hollywoodized, but this film sucks you into this world and puts you right alongside this fatally wounded man desperate to survive.
But we should never say it's difficult because we are so bloody lucky," Kate said, echoing comments made by Angelina in May. It's always a juggle, but isn't it for every working mother? When Winslet's personal and professional lives do happen to intertwine—like when she got pregnant with her third child while filming the upcoming movie —she makes the best of it."The first AD came up to me and said, 'Why didn't you tell me?While exploring the uncharted wilderness in 1823, legendary frontiersman Hugh Glass sustains injuries from a brutal bear attack. This is not to discount the incredible performances of Di Caprio and Hardy (Di Caprio finally getting his well-overdue Oscar), but it's hard to imagine the movie being so impactful had another director been at the helm. In the 1800s, a group of settlers escape an ambush by an indigenous tribe, and during their travels one man gets separated from the group and gets brutally attacked by a wild bear and subsequently left for dead by his team. What it also highlights is human perseverance and the will to live. When his hunting team leaves him for dead, Glass must utilize his survival skills to find a way back home while avoiding natives on their own hunt. The things that happen to this man are truly horrific and difficult to watch.
